Critical Beats for the Climate along with Rainforest Action Network were featured guests at Lightning In A Bottle this year, activating the community on social and environmental causes while showcasing phenomenal cross cultural beats.

The duo took the stage on Saturday afternoon along with several LIB artists to unveil extraordinary new music that weaves modern electronic virtuosity with the ancient, sacred sounds of indigenous Amazonian artists. The purpose of the event was to raise awareness surrounding the critical role that rainforest preservation plays in global climate change while increasing cultural awareness through music.

Between songs, representatives from Critical Beats and Amazon Voice weaved in spoken dialogue about the urgent needs of the people in the Amazon and potent stories about the people involved in the creation of CB music. This music is truly one of a kind, intended to connect listeners to the hearts and prayers from the Amazon, and inspire the audience to join in the cause to end deforestation, species loss, and cultural upheaval.

For the first time, music producers such as Govinda, Hot Pink Purple, Lynx & Janover, and Trip Trap, performed side by side, unveiling the tracks they’ve co-created with indigenous peoples of the Amazon.

Lightning In A Bottle takes place at Oak Canyon Ranch, May 27-30 2011, outside Irvine, CA.
